Why do business in Africa?

Since 2010, Guinea has normalized its political situation and stabilized its macroeconomic environment, while the country’s ongoing commitment to improve its business climate has been rewarded by a strong upturn in growth and investments in 2016 and 2017. The enthusiasm for investment in the Guinean economy is visible, the rate of investment having more than tripled between 2015 and 2016, from 7,3% to 25,2% of GDP.

It is related to a jump in FDI from 3% to 18,8% of GDP over the same period, which was accompanied by heavy imports of capital goods. The country is also back on track with its objective to reduce poverty, with positive GDP per capita growth.

Guinea’s economy has proved resilient and is currently enjoying a strong economic recovery. This performance is the result of higher-than expected mining production, following the launch of new mining projects, an increase in agricultural output and a rise in electricity production. Guinea’s exports are also on an upward trend, with average annual growth of 10% expected between 2014 and 2018, mainly driven by agricultural produce, bauxite and gold.

Guinea possesses rich generalized hydrography and immense underexploited potential in the mining industrial. Guinea has two-third of the world’s reserves of bauxite, substantial deposits of gold, high-grade iron ore, manganese, zinc, cobalt, nickel, uranium.
